| THE CURRENT MRS. HARRISON had an enthusiastically received reading on February 26, 2005 at Theatre 68 in Los Angeles. Constance Towers, Leslie Charleson, Jackie Zeman and Denise Alexander, four actresses from the soap opera "General Hospital" made for a thrilling ensemble. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Set in the spring of 1968. Martin Luther King has just been shot, there is major unrest in the streets of many major American cities, and a war rages in Southeast Asia in a place called Vietnam.. Against this backdrop three southern sisters get together for a visit in their old childhood home. Their solitude and family time is turned on its side when their newest sister-in-law, a Yankee from Vermont, makes a surprise appearance and causes revelations that are more hurtful than happy. Though hysterically funny as these sisters carry on in their charming southern ways the play is also deeply touching. Four womans roles, 40's-60's One set, kitchen and adjoining family room |
