| Jefferson was born and raised in Washington, D.C. and grew up with a keen interest in theatre and government, as well as a passion for American History. Growing up in the church his family have been members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for generations. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Jefferson recently began his second year on staff of the First Christian Church of North Hollywood, California as a Licensed Minister. He has been assisting in the four Sunday worship services as well as in the planning of additional programs and ministries. One area of ministry that is currently being developed is a Healing Touch Ministry and with that the addition of a Wednesday evening Prayer, Meditation and Communion Service. Working with the children's programs, as well as with the seniors, has been especially meaningful. He plans to continue his seminary education toward future ordination. Previously Jefferson directed the Youth Program at the Hollywood-Beverly Christian Church in Hollywood, California which included a summer theatre program for youth and he served in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Regional Office for the Pacific Southwest Region, assisting the Senior Associate Regional Minister. Currently, Jefferson is also serving on the Board of Directors for the Eastmont Community Center in East Los Angeles. . As a writer, Jefferson wrote the book, as well as directed, the musical ENCORE (based on a Shirley Temple film) in Los Angeles. His play FIRST COUPLE had it's world premiere at the Tiffany Theatre in Los Angeles where it was extended and enjoyed a healthy run. It has recently been updated to reflect the current political climate. His new play, THE CURRENT MRS. HARRISON, starring the wonderful Constance Towers, recently had an enthusiastically received reading at Theatre 68 in Los Angeles. Jefferson studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York after attending Montogomery College in Rockville, Maryland and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. A proud member of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Screen Actors Guild and the Dramatists Guild of America, Jefferson currently makes his home in Los Angeles. |
